Our Team:

Halton Virtual School is made up of a dedicated team working with teachers, social workers, carers, and other professionals to support children and young people in care.. We share a strong commitment to helping every vulnerable child reach their full potential, both academically and personally.

Our Team are currently seeking a skilled and highly organised Data & Business Support Officer to play a key role in supporting our statutory responsibilities for children looked after, previously looked-after children, and children in need.

The role is primarily based at Rutland House, with flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. A full driving license is required for travel to meetings across the borough.

Hours: 22.2 – working pattern to be discussed at interview. 

Your Contributions:

Working closely with the Virtual School Headteacher, you will be responsible for maintaining robust data systems, providing high-quality analysis to inform decision-making, and supporting the financial and operational management of the service. This is a varied and rewarding role that directly contributes to improving educational outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children

Some key responsibilities include:

• Manage and analyse data on children and young people to support planning and improve services

• Produce reports and maintain accurate records using data systems and office tools

• Support financial processes, including budget management and invoice administration

• Coordinate meetings, communications, and day-to-day business operations of the Virtual School

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality standards while supporting staff where needed

You will be an experienced business support or data professional with excellent organisational and analytical skills, and a strong understanding of working in services that support children and families.  You will also have proven experience in minute-taking, strong report writing skills, and sound financial knowledge, with the ability to manage information accurately and communicate it clearly.
