Our Team:

Inglefield is a small, welcoming residential home based in Runcorn, offering short breaks and long-term residential support for children and young people aged 4 to 18. We provide care within a warm, family-centred environment where every young person is valued and supported.

Your Contributions:

We’re looking for someone who is caring, calm, and child-focused to join our team at Inglefield.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with children and young people — especially those with disabilities, additional health needs, or behaviours that can sometimes be challenging. Patience, attentiveness, and the ability to provide reassurance and consistency during quieter hours is essential for this role. If you’re nurturing, observant, and confident working independently, you could be a great fit for our team.

Your role will focus on ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of our young people throughout the night, responding appropriately to any needs that arise, and maintaining a secure environment.

Key duties include:

  • Providing a key worker role, in accordance with the child/young person’s care plan

  • Providing reports, recording events, and contributing to the maintenance of case files

  • Supporting with light domestic duties to maintain a safe and comfortable environment

  • Providing personal care where required, in line with care plans

  • Monitoring young people throughout the night and responding to any health, emotional, or behavioural needs

  • Ensuring the security of the building

  • Completing relevant documentation 

  • Administering medication as required, in line with care plans

  • Working independently during night hours and ensuring clear, detailed handovers to day staff

  • Attending team meetings and completing required training and supervision

PLEASE NOTE - Due to the nature of this role, there is a requirement for all applicants to be female. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Hours: 25hrs - 2 week rota – 22.00 – 08.00 - 5 nights on (10hrs per night) then 9 days off

Please note: on occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic. As per the exceptions under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 21 years or over. The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 3 years older than our oldest resident.
