Three Temporary Family Hub Navigators - 12 month FTC

Our Team:
Halton Family hubs support children and young people from birth until they reach the age of 19 (or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities). They bring council, health, and community services together so that families can access the right support at the right time.
Our family hubs provide a mix of physical and virtual spaces, as well as outreach, where families can easily access non-judgmental support for the challenges they may be facing.
Services delivered from family hubs include:
- Midwifery appointments, health checks, weaning and nutrition advice, early years play education and sensory development
- Intensive support to reduce family problems that result in family breakdown, working with the child and family to make positive changes
- Family help and support for children with disabilities or additional needs
- Practical support around finance and housing youth support services, including youth justice. mental health support for children, young people, families, and new parents
Hours: 37 per week
Your Contributions:
In the journey of Family Hub development across Halton we are excited to announce there are x3 Family Hub Navigator roles being introduced (temporary 12-month basis).
Of which, X2 will be community based across Runcorn and Widnes and x1 will have a SEND focus to support our parents/families to navigate information and guidance with support.
As a Family Hub Navigator, you will be the first point of contact for children and families and act as a “bridge” between the community and Family Hub services across the locality you are in and to promote family support services to diverse communities.
More specific responsibilities include:
- To be knowledgeable in Halton’s Family Hub Digital Platform and Local Offer, particularly, to support families to navigate it with confidence
- To ensure that families are empowered to engage with local co-production opportunities and that their voices and feedback is fed back is presented
- To actively seek to engage parents/carers of children with SEND into co-production opportunities and to understand barriers they may face when accessing services
- Undertake low-level outreach activities with the Family Hub team as required
- To engage with the multi-agency workforce, including local partners and commissioned services, to understand their current offer of support and ensure this information is disseminated out into communities (You may already be a Community/Parent Champion with a passion to “Make a Difference” to Halton’s children and young peoples outcomes)
- To empower parents in being confident to contribute to shaping services that create better opportunities for families
- Experiences of engaging with services and want to give something back, that will support families of the future
You will be:
- Conscientious and committed to delivering a high standard of service
- Approachable with a pleasant manner and be open and friendly to service users and professionals
- A good listener and can communicate effectively
- A team player and non-judgmental
- Flexible and where required work evenings and weekends
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience of previous community engagement projects
- Experience of working with a range of professional
- A good awareness of safeguarding arrangements for children and vulnerable adults
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
