Your Contributions:

As an Early Years and Best Start Home Learning Environment Officer you will play a key role in delivering Halton’s Best Start in Life ambition. You’ll work with early years settings, families, and partners to strengthen home learning environments and support children’s early development, wellbeing, and school readiness.You’ll promote evidence-based approaches, provide targeted guidance and workshops, and help ensure consistent, high-quality early years practice across the borough—empowering parents and carers to give every child the best possible start.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:
• Acting as a key link between early years settings, families, health services, and Family Hub teams.

• Providing guidance to parents on child development, early learning, and school readiness, including running workshops (e.g., speech, routines, play).

• Supporting early years settings with programmes, home learning environment (HLE) initiatives, and targeted interventions for children needing extra help.

• Working with professionals to identify timely support, while collecting and using data to monitor outcomes and improve planning.

• Contributing to wider development through resource creation, workforce support, transition planning, and strengthening parent engagement.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent and will have post qualifying experience of working with children in EYFS and supporting children with additional needs.
