Our Team:

Our dedicated 16+ Employment to Education (E2E) Team delivers careers-focused support, tracking the education and employment activities of young people aged 16 to 18 and up to 25 with an Education Health and Care plan (EHCP). This information is reported monthly to the Department for Education.

We provide targeted advice and guidance to young people who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET), as well as those at risk of becoming NEET, encouraging them to engage in education, training, or employment opportunities.

The team are primarily based at Rutland House with flexibility for hybrid/agile working as deemed appropriate by the line manager.

Hours: 37hrs per week, including college study time.  

Your Contributions:

Our 16+ E2E Team are seeking to appoint a Young People Tracking Service Officer. This will be an apprenticeship post, meeting the standards for a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Riverside College Halton will provide the tuition input alongside the learning taking place on the job. The post is a two-year post, within which the Level 3 Apprenticeship standards should be met. At the end of the two years the employee will be supported to apply for full time work.

The role is mostly desk based and heavily weighted towards data input, therefore would suit someone who can work confidently with Information Technology packages and are accurate in transferring and managing data entry.  

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Inputting and managing the information held within the Client Caseload Information System, ensuring the data is quality assured and meeting data protection legislation.
  • Ensuring the Council makes all monthly and annual statutory returns to the Department for Education in a timely manner and without errors.
  • Liaising with schools, colleges and training providers to maintain strong and effective communications about the participation of young people.

It is essential that you have at least 4 x GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language and maths. You will have some experience beyond studying GCSEs, whether through work or further study. You will be ready for work and keen to commit to a full-time role. Your experience will be to a level whereby you will still benefit from the learning and development of a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

As part of the selection process there will be an assessment day taking place at Riverside College to assess candidates English, maths, data entry capabilities and ability to work within a team before a smaller number of candidates will progress to formal interview.  Dates to be confirmed.
